Malvazija 2023 by Skerk is a structured, mineral and expressive skin-contact white wine from the Carso Triestino, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Made from Malvasia, traditionally associated with Malvasia Istriana in this area, it reflects the rocky limestone landscape of the Karst plateau, the red iron-rich soils, the Bora wind and the strong influence of the nearby Adriatic Sea. The wine is macerated in vats made from local stone, giving texture, aromatic depth and a distinctive mineral character. It combines Mediterranean aromatics, citrus peel, stone fruit, wild herbs, floral notes and a deep savoury profile, with natural sediments that come from the traditional maceration of the grapes and support the wine’s natural preservation.
