Etna Bianco DOC DBE 2024 by Tenuta Solisciaro is produced from Carricante grown on the northern slopes of Mount Etna near Castiglione di Sicilia, an area known for its high-altitude volcanic vineyards.

The vines grow on sandy volcanic soils at about 700–750 meters above sea level, where altitude and strong day–night temperature variations help preserve freshness and aromatic precision. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging on the lees for about ten months, partly in amphora and partly in chestnut wood barrels typical of the Etna area.

The result is a refined and expressive Etna Bianco — fresh, mineral and vibrant, with citrus and white flower aromas supported by a saline finish that reflects the volcanic terroir.

Harvest:

Manual harvest of Carricante grapes from vineyards located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna near Castiglione di Sicilia. The vines grow at around 700–750 meters above sea level on sandy volcanic soils that contribute to the wine’s characteristic minerality and freshness.

Vinification:

Manual harvest followed by gentle pressing of whole clusters. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. The wine then ages on the lees for about ten months, partly in amphora and partly in chestnut wood barrels, before bottling.

Tasting Notes:

Bright straw yellow. The nose reveals aromas of citrus, white flowers and delicate mineral notes with hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate the wine is fresh and elegant with vibrant acidity and a long saline mineral finish.
