Aurora Etna Bianco 2025 by I Vigneri is a fresh, mineral and volcanic white wine from Milo, on the eastern side of Mount Etna in Sicily. Made mainly from Carricante with a small share of Minnella Bianca, it comes from Vigna dell’Aurora in Contrada Caselle, at around 750 metres above sea level. The vineyard lies on volcanic sandy soils rich in lapilli and pumice, shaped by the altitude, high rainfall, sea influence and the strong identity of Etna. Produced with traditional, low-intervention methods, Aurora combines citrus, white flowers, herbs, yellow fruit and a deep savoury-mineral character, with the vertical freshness that makes Etna Bianco one of Sicily’s most distinctive white wines.

Harvest:

Grapes are harvested from Vigna dell’Aurora in Contrada Caselle, in the municipality of Milo, on the eastern side of Etna at around 750 metres above sea level. The vineyard grows on volcanic sandy soils rich in lapilli and pumice, about 10 km from Etna’s central crater and 8 km from the Ionian Sea.

Vinification:

The whole grapes are directly pressed, followed by static and natural settling of the must for about 30 hours. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts using pied de cuve and lasts around 15–20 days. The wine then ages for about 6 months in stainless steel, with natural clarification by settling and decanting

Tasting Notes:

Fresh, vertical and mineral, with notes of citrus, lemon zest, white flowers, yellow apple, Mediterranean herbs, flint and delicate saline nuances, supported by vibrant acidity and a long savoury finish.
