Chianti Rufina DOCG 2023 by Frascole comes from vineyards located between 300 and 500 meters above sea level near Dicomano, in the Chianti Rufina area northeast of Florence.

The wine is based on Sangiovese with small amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino, grown on clay and marl soils typical of the Rufina hills. Fermentation includes extended maceration on the skins followed by aging for about one year in cement and wood, preserving both the structure and freshness of the wine.

The result is an elegant and energetic expression of Chianti Rufina — vibrant and balanced, with aromas of cherry, raspberry and subtle earthy spice supported by refined tannins and lively acidity.

Vinification:

Fermentation with extended maceration on the skins for up to one month. The wine is aged for about one year in cement and wooden vessels before bottling.

Tasting Notes:

Bright ruby red. The nose shows aromas of cherry and raspberry with subtle earthy and spicy notes. On the palate the wine is fresh and elegant with vibrant acidity, smooth tannins and a balanced, persistent finish.

Frascole is a historic estate located in the hills near Dicomano, between the Mugello and Valdisieve valleys in Tuscany. Archaeological evidence suggests that vines were already cultivated in this area during the Etruscan period.

Since 1992 the Lippi and Santoni families have managed the estate directly, producing wine and olive oil with a strong commitment to environmental respect and traditional farming. The vineyards are cultivated organically, with certification since 1999.

Located between 300 and 500 meters above sea level, the estate produces wines that reflect the freshness and character of high-altitude Chianti Rufina terroir.
