Tenuta di Valgiano
Among the first wineries in Italy to embrace biodynamic agriculture, Tenuta di Valgiano is a pioneering estate located in the Colline Lucchesi zone near Lucca. Managed by Moreno Petrini, Laura Di Collobiano and winemaker Saverio Petrilli, the estate's 16 hectares are planted in limestone-rich marl and sandstone soils at 120–250 meters above sea level. Sangiovese, Vermentino, Trebbiano and Malvasia grow alongside international varieties, all farmed strictly according to biodynamic principles. Manual harvesting, spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar result in wines that are pure, authentic expressions of a Tuscany beyond Chianti and Montalcino — with a captivating character entirely their own.
