Pian dell'Orino

Pian dell'Orino is a small biodynamic estate located in the hills of Montalcino, in southern Tuscany. Founded by Jan Erbach and Caroline Pobitzer, the winery focuses exclusively on Sangiovese and cultivates its vineyards according to organic and biodynamic principles.

The estate covers about 11.5 hectares, including vineyards, olive groves, gardens and forest, creating a diverse natural ecosystem that supports biodiversity and vine health. All vineyard work and harvesting are done by hand, and the wines ferment with indigenous yeasts before aging in large oak casks.

With a strong focus on terroir and minimal intervention in the cellar, Pian dell'Orino produces small quantities of expressive wines that reflect the character of Montalcino and the uniqueness of each vintage.
