Pian dell'Orino

Founded by Jan Erbach and Caroline Pobitzer, Pian dell'Orino is a small biodynamic estate in the hills of Montalcino dedicated exclusively to Sangiovese. The 11.5 hectare property — encompassing vineyards, olive groves, gardens and forest — is farmed entirely by hand according to organic and biodynamic principles. Indigenous yeasts, large oak casks and minimal intervention in the cellar result in small quantities of deeply expressive wines that capture the true character of Montalcino and the uniqueness of each vintage.
