In Der Eben

In Der Eben is a small family winery located on the eastern slopes of the Renon plateau above Bolzano in Alto Adige. The estate is run by Urban Plattner, who grew up on the family farm and took over the vineyard management in 2010 before officially founding the winery in 2014.

The vineyards are cultivated according to organic principles since 1990 and biodynamic methods since 2014, following the Bioland guidelines. Planted between 400 and 550 meters of altitude on volcanic porphyry soils, the vines are surrounded by forests that help create a balanced natural ecosystem.

In the cellar Plattner follows a minimal-intervention philosophy with spontaneous fermentations, long aging in used oak barrels and bottling without filtration. The wines are vibrant, expressive and deeply connected to the alpine terroir of the Renon.
