Cantina Togliana
Cantina Togliana is the project of Achille Milanesio, a mountain grower deeply rooted in the extreme terraces of Carema, at the border between Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta. Here, Nebbiolo — locally called Picotendro — grows on narrow stone terraces supported by traditional pergolas known as topie, resting on ancient morainic soils rich in alpine gneiss.
Production is very small and entirely manual. Fermentations are spontaneous, macerations are long and aging takes place in large oak casks. Wines are bottled unfiltered and imbottigliato all’origine in Carema.
Togliana represents a new precision-driven chapter in the story of mountain Nebbiolo — rigorous, territorial and uncompromising.
